Mt. Juliet Police Chase Ends In Hermitage

A man with outstanding domestic violent warrants was tased and arrested after a two-county car chase Monday.

HERMITAGE, TN — A two-county car chase ended with a tased suspect in Hermitage Monday night.

A passerby called Mt. Juliet police saying they saw a woman being assaulted inside a car outside of a restaurant. MJPD spotted the car given in the caller's description around 9:30 p.m. and tried to pull it over.

The car, however, sped toward the Davidson County line and the driver tried to flee on foot after exiting Interstate 40 at Old Hickory Boulevard. The pursuing officer tased the suspect. Police said the man resisted arrest, had a handgun in his waistband and ditched some drugs during the chase.

The suspect was taken to the hospital and then into custody after his release. The woman in the car's passenger seat reportedly confirmed she was assaulted.

Neither the suspect nor the victim were immediately identified, though police said the suspect had outstanding domestic violence warrants in Davidson County
