Nashville Man Steals Blender, Replaces It, Gets Arrested: Police

A man stole a blender from a Neely's Bend porch, felt guilty enough to replace it and then got arrested, according to police.

MADISON, TN -- A Nashville man stole a blender from a Neely's Bend front porch and then, racked with guilt, replaced it, according to Metro Police. He was arrested anyway.

According to an affidavit, a Neely's Bend man was expecting a FedEx delivery of a Ninja Blender he'd ordered from Amazon. Notified by the retailer that it had been delivered and left on his front porch, the man reviewed his home security footage and saw a man stealing the package.

After sharing the footage on social media, he learned that the same man had stolen from another nearby home and told police that the thief was 51-year-old Patrick Dean, according to the arrest report.

Dean, apparently feeling guilty and having learned he was found out, sent the man a replacement blender, though, as the investigators note, he wouldn't have known which of the several models of Ninja Blender available from Amazon to send if he hadn't, in fact, stolen the package.

In a phone conversation, Dean allegedly admitted to the theft.
