Plumber Rapes Goodlettsville Teen: Police

A 28-year-old plumber is charged with raping a 14-year-old Goodlettsville girl.

GOODLETTSVILLE, TN -- A 28-year-old plumber raped the 14-year-old daughter of the people who hired him, according to investigators.

Derek Townsend is charged with rape in the alleged attack in the early morning of January 12.

According to an affidavit, Townsend had been hired to do some plumbing work at the Goodlettsville home and while he was there "made several romantic advances towards the minor child and commented several times on how beautiful the minor child was."

After leaving, saying he needed more supplies, he return at 1:30 a.m. and called the girl's cell phone, asking her to let him in to finish the job.

"The minor child asked the defendant why he was there so late and the defendant replied that he was not there to work but was there for her. The defendant then forcibly hugged and kissed the minor child and then forced her into a crawl space under the residence," the affidavit says.

Townsend allegedly fondled the girl and exposed his penis and masturbated in front of her. He left the home after hearing a "commotion" upstairs, according to police.

Townsend is being held on a $76,000 bond.
