Rivergate Security Guard Shoots At Thieves

MADISON, TN — A security guard at a Rivergate automotive electronics store shot at two robbery suspects after the tried to run him over with their getaway van, he told police.

Around 2:30 Thursday morning, the guard saw two men loading items from the CarTronics on Myatt Drive into a white van, he told detectives.

When he confronted the thieves, they tried to back over him with the van, so he shot at them, he told police.

It's unknown if anyone was injured, but no local hospitals reported any gunshot victims matching the suspect's description. It is unknown how much merchandise they made off with.
