Scheming Renter Throws Wild Party, Trashes East Nashville Home
A man using a fake ID to secure an East Nashville short-term rental threw a party, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
NASHVILLE, TN -- More than 100 people jammed into a East Nashville short-term rental property Saturday night while the home's owner spent the weekend in Atlanta. When he returned, his home was trashed after revelers caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Partygoers busted walls, stained ceilings, ruined a mattress and threw a couch in the yard. The home's owner, Brady Mills, says his 60-inch television is missing and wrote on Facebook artwork was also damaged.
In a perfect world, Mills could simply ask the rental website who rented the home or even charge the credit card used to pay for it for all the damage. Had the home been rented through well-known sites like AirBnB or VRBO, that would be an easy solution.

Unfortunately, the home was rented through RedAwning, a site that doesn't require proof of identification.
Property manager Leslie Eggleston told WSMV with surveillance footage she hopes to track the man down, although she believes she's evicted him from another property she manages.

“We have video surveillance and credit cards we can trace back to so there are other ways to find them and we can find peace for the homeowner," she told the station. "It’s just not going to be an instant resolution.”
Meanwhile, Mills hopes the surveillance footage he shared on Facebook helps with raw investigation.
