Suspect Arrested In Neely's Bend Home Invasion

A 29-year-old man is accused of holding four people at gunpoint and robbing them during a Madison home invasion Sunday morning.

MADISON, TN — Around 7:30 Sunday morning, 29-year-old Jeffrey McNew and a female accomplice climbed through a kitchen window at a home on Neely's Bend, beginning an ordeal for the the people inside, according to police.

McNew and the woman went into the bedroom of the parents at the home, showing them their handguns and demanding money and valuables, investigators said. They then went into the bedroom of the couple's teenage son and demanded he and a friend who was also there join the adults.

The victims told police McNew then demanded the father drive him to an ATM and withdraw $400. Upon returning, McNew and the woman left in the family's car.

McNew was arrested Monday morning, charged with two counts each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery. He is being held on a $100,000 bond. Police are still searching for the woman.
