Teen Girls Attacked Me, Lyft Driver Says
A Lyft driver says a quartet of teen girls tried to carjack him Tuesday morning.

HERMITAGE, TN — A Lyft driver says an early morning fare turned into terror when a group of teenage girls tried to carjack him at gunpoint.
The driver, who was not identified, told NewsChannel 5 he was hesitant to take the 3 a.m. pick-up, but talked himself into it, thinking it could just be someone headed to the airport for an early morning flight.

He told the station he picked up three teen girls at a gas station on Lebanon Road and they were headed to the Chimney Top apartments to meet a fourth girl, who got in the car when they arrived.
"And then I said here we are, we're all here and I said are you guys ready to go. And they stalled and then that's when the girl that I picked up last said I'm a need you to effin' get out of the car," he told the station.

He turned around to see her training a gun at him. Rather than give up his car, he sped away with the girls still inside and, according to him, one then began hitting him with a baseball bat. When he told them he was taking them to police, they jumped out of the car.
The driver is OK and said he will continue driving for ride-sharing and he noted he wasn't entirely sure the girls had a well-developed plan, since one of the girls used her phone — and name — to request the ride from the app and gave him a specific address.
Metro Police are investigating.
