Teen Threatens To Shoot Grandparents, Steals Car: Police

An 18-year-old was arrested Wednesday on a laundry list of charges including threatening to shoot his grandparents and stealing a car.

NASHVILLE, TN -- An 18-year-old threatened to shoot his grandparents Saturday and then stole a car in La Vergne Wednesday, according to Metro Police.

On Wednesday, an MNPD officer attempted to pull over a car driven by Charlie Easley, according to an affidavit. Easley did not stop and ran multiple stop signs in an apparent effort to escape the police. Eventually he ditched the car and ran, along with two others, and the trio was arrested shortly thereafter on Lischey Avenue, found with "a white substance consistent with cocaine," according to the police report.

An unnamed juvenile in the car with Easley stayed behind and was found with a gun.

Officers ran the car's vehicle-identification number and leaned it had been reported stolen. After Easley's arrest, officers learned he had three outstanding warrants, including one sworn Saturday by his grandparents who said that after they told the 18-year-old he couldn't come inside their house, he cursed and then pulled a gun and fired twice into the air.

Easley is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, theft over $10,000, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, three counts of evading arrest, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, cocaine possession and weapon possession.
