Thieves Steal Cars From Old Hickory Lot, Ram Their Way Out

Two cars were stolen from an auction lot in Old Hickory, then used as battering rams to engender an escape.

OLD HICKORY, TN — How they made their way in is unclear, but investigators are pretty sure they've determined how two car thieves escaped an Old Hickory auction lot.

The night manager at ADESA Auto Auction heard a loud bang coming from near the gate of the lot around 1 a.m. Monday, according to Metro Police, and saw the back of a pick-up truck followed by a vintage white Ford Mustang speeding through the gate.

Police believe the thieves bashed the gate with the truck, creating enough space for the two cars to escape the locked lot.
