Antioch Woman Walked Into I-40 Traffic Near Donelson: Police
A woman, likely under the influence, was hit "by several cars" and killed on I-40 near Donelson early Tuesday.

DONELSON, TN -- An Antioch woman, likely “under the influence of a controlled substance,” died after she was hit by “several cars” on Interstate 40 west in Donelson, closing the road for hours Tuesday morning.
Multiple passing motorists called 911 before 3 a.m. to report that a woman was lying in the interstate near the Donelson Pike exit. Police arrived to find the woman's body in the road and numerous people, including, apparently, her husband, on the shoulder.

Police say the 37-year-old woman asked her husband to let her out of the car around 2:45 a.m. The husband pulled over, thinking his wife would walk up the ramp, but she instead walked into traffic.
She was hit by an number of vehicles, police said.

The interstate was closed through 8 a.m., causing significant delays on inbound traffic from Wilson County into downtown.
