Would-Be Robbers Flee When Gas Station Clerk Reaches For Alarm

Metro Police are searching for two men who tried to hold up a Donelson Mapco late Sunday.

DONELSON, TN -- Two armed men cancelled their stick-up bid at a Donelson Mapco when the clerk reached for an alarm button, according to Metro Police.

Shortly before midnight, a man wearing a white bandanna over his face entered the Mapco at 465 Donelson Pike and milled about while other customers at the counter completed their transactions. Once the story was empty, a second man, also wearing a white bandanna entered the store carrying a silver pistol.

As he approached the counter with the pistol pulled, the clerk reached for an alarm button, sending the pair fleeing towards nearby Allen Road.
