  1. Williamson County students will be exposed to various industries during the district's Industry Day event. It will be held on Sep. 13 at Williamson County Agriculture Center between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All of the district's high school students are invited to attend. Registration can be completed at this link. (Press Release Desk)
  2. A new Tennessee law affecting third-grade students goes into effect this school year. The new law requires a third-grade student to demonstrate proficiency in the Tennessee Comprehensive Program's English Language Arts section. If a student scores below expectations on the section, a Williamson County student may need to participate in summer school to progress to the next grade. This law would have impacted 34 percent of the district's third graders last year. (Williamson Source)
  3. The validity of Naomi Judd's last will and testament is being argued in Williamson County Probate Court. Her will is being contested by her daughter Wynonna Judd. A handwriting expert has reportedly identified about a half dozen inconsistencies with the five-page document. Naomi Judd died at the age of 76 on Apr. 30. (Radar Online)
