Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. Middle Tennessee Electric crews left Thursday morning to assist Palmetto Electric Cooperative to restore power after Hurricane Ian. The crews will be deployed in the area until all the power needs are restored. Middle Tennessee Electric provides power to Williamson County residents and is the largest electric cooperative in the Tennessee Valley Authority region. (Williamson Source)
  2. Hospital chiefs from around Tennessee met in Franklin this past weekend to discuss the ongoing staffing shortage. The Tennessee Hospital Association heard from human resources expert Steve Cadigan, the author of WorkQuake, about rethinking hospital job demands and benefits. Even as the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, high turnover rates and hiring shortages continue to impact many hospitals. (WPLN)
  3. Tennessee's high court has reversed a Williamson County Chancery Court ruling regarding the requirement for police to release their investigation into the death of country singer Naomi Judd. The state Supreme Court has sent the case back to the lower court for another hearing. Judd's family filed a court petition in August to seal police reports and recordings about her death. (Fox 29)
