Felon Flees Franklin Crash: Police

A convicted felon, already behind bars in Rutherford County, is charged in a Franklin hit and run.

FRANKLIN, TN -- A 36-year-old Memphis man, already jailed on charges in Rutherford County, will eventually head west on Highway 96 to face the music for a hit and run in Franklin.

Franklin Police say at 8:30 Monday night, a reckless driver ran a Spring Hill woman off Interstate 65 South near the Murfreesboro Road exit and then fled the scene. Investigators say the suspect, Santhanou Xayadeth, forced the victim’s vehicle into the retaining wall where it crashed and overturned. Xayadeth then allegedly hit a second car, though the driver of that vehicle was uninjured.

A short time later, Lewisburg Police located the suspect's car wrecked and abandoned, leading to the identification of the driver as Xayadeth.
