Franklin Police say a man claiming to be a policeman himself assaulted and zip-tied his ex-girlfriend.

FRANKLIN, TN -- Residents of Franklin's Laurelwood Condominiums awakened by a woman's screams early Saturday morning found a bizarre scene in their complex's parking lot.
The woman, according to police, was being held down after her wrists were zip-tied by 29-year-old Randall Murphy, with whom she'd had a previous relationship. Murphy, who lives in the complex, allegedly told his neighbors that he is a police officer.
