Here are the top four stories today in Franklin:

  1. The popular Downtown Franklin restaurant, the Grilled Cheeserie, has closed down. Opened in 2019, the cozy spot was popular among locals who had a hankering for for a delicious grilled cheese. Unfortunately, the store suffered during the pandemic and ultimately has shut its doors. Luckily, the Grilled Cheeserie food truck will still be serving up savory snacks around Franklin. 2. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Franklin Police Department is honoring its commitment to helping people trapped in dangerous homes. As part of the events planned for the month, the Franklin Police Headquarters has set up a lawn display supporting victims of domestic violence. If you or anyone you know is in a domestic violence situation, you can contact support at the link, as well as nearby shelters. (Williamson Source)
  3. A fire in a Franklin housing community did significant damage to a townhouse on Tuesday morning. The fire began early in the day at the Del Rio Commons, and firefighters responded quickly in an effort to get the blaze under control. The two residents and their dog were able to escape the fire unharmed, but are displaced. The cause of the fire is still unknown. (Williamson Source)
  4. Downtown Franklin will be celebrating the Art Crawl this Friday.
