Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. The Franklin History & Culture Center on Bridge St. is reportedly now open for private event rental. The property was acquired by the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County in early 2022. Jessica Pfranger has been hired as the center's Director of Event and Tourism sales. Click for more information about the center. (Williamson Source)
  2. Company Distilling has expanded into Williamson County. The distillery will be celebrating its grand opening this weekend at Thompson Station. The distillery is another stop on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail. The founders have a long history of advocating for Tennessee micro-distillers. (News Channel 5 Nashville)
  3. Franklin Police Officer Scott Legeiza suffered a heart attack while on vacation in the Caribbean. Legeiza has been with the department for more than 20 years and went on the trip after delaying his honeymoon due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is reportedly recovering in a hospital in St. Maarten. The family is attempting to raise funds to have him transported back to the United States to receive the treatment he desperately needs. Community members who wish to help can donate to Officer Legeiza’s medical fund. (Williamson Herald)
