Jury Duty Scam Bubbles Up Again
The prepaid card con is making the rounds in Middle Tennessee ahead of the holidays.

FRANKLIN, TN -- Franklin Police say reports of the infamous jury duty scam are increasing as the holidays approach.
The con artists call and claim to be a lieutenant or captain with the sheriff's department or local police and say that the resident missed jury duty and runs the risk of arrest unless a payment is made using a prepaid card.
In one Williamson County incident early this year, the conman told the victim to buy $3,000 in prepaid cards and recite the numbers on the back; the money was gone in a matter of seconds and the victim was emailed an invoice.
