- According to an SEC report, Franklin's Raymond James has been fined $500,000 for failing to supervise a former registered representative and broker. The fine is related to Franklin's Frederick M. Stow's misappropriation of $901,500 from one of his clients, a World War II veteran. According to the SEC, James failed to develop policies and procedures that would reasonably supervise staff. - According to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Williamson County had the lowest unemployment rate in the state last month. The county posted a 2.3 percent unemployment rate. The rate declined from its 2.6 percent in July. All of the state's counties posted lower unemployment rates in Aug. compared to their July rates. - The Williamson County Sherriff's Department reports that its deputies have seized eleven pounds of high-grade marijuana during a traffic stop. The two individuals driving the vehicle had Mexican passports and did not speak English. According to the department, the individuals were traveling from Modesto, CA to Chattanooga, TN. The department is reminding the community that marijuana is still illegal in Tennessee. (WKRN)
