Here are the top four stories in Franklin today:
- Light Hill Meats has opened a retail butcher store in nearby Spring Hill. The store will sell an assortment of locally grown meats such as beef, lamb, and pork. It will also offer a variety of other proteins like seafood, chicken, and exotic meats for adventurous eaters. The butcher store officially opened on Sep. 17, 2022, but is celebrating its grand opening on Oct. 19. (Williamson Source)
- One person was critically injured in a car crash in Franklin. The accident happened at Hillsboro Road and South Berrys Chapel Road on Friday. The person injured in the crash was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The roadway has since been reopened. (WSMV 4)
- The emergency medical staff of Williamson County emergency medical staff has been sent to Florida for two weeks to help them during Hurricane Ian. On Wednesday Hurricane Ian hit the west coast of Florida as a Category 4. Williamson County Emergency Management Agency has coordinated with the medical center prep on gathering non-medical supplies, as well as deployment. Additionally, the state of Tennessee has sent over 1,200 National Guards to provide aid to citizens. (Tennessean)
- On Friday, the Franklin Fire Department held a free car-seat check event. The event took place at the High Hopes Court and was open to all members of the community. Specially trained technicians were on site to inspect and provide information on the various pros and cons of different car seats. For those who missed out on the event but would still like to have their car seat inspected, contact the Franklin Fire Department and make an appointment (WSMV 4)
