Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. Franklin's Alma McLemore has been honored with the Sage Award from AgeWell Middle Tennessee. McLemore is the African American Heritage Society of Williamson County's CEO. The award is meant to honor a lifelong leader who improves the community while impacting the lives of older adults in the region. (williamsonherald.com)
  2. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's latest report, 92 adults were arrested in Williamson County in 2021 for DUI. Those arrests are part of a 3.03 percent increase in DUIs in Tennessee since 2020. The number of DUIs are reported to the Bureau by local law enforcement agencies and the report is compiled through the Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System. (WATE)
  3. Williamson County Schools' Grassland Elementary School has been recognized as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School. The recognition is given by the U.S. Department of Education for schools displaying high overall academic performance or progress in reducing achievement gaps. Five other schools in Tennessee received the recognition. (TN.gov)
