Six Months Later, Still No Answers In Williamson County Murder

Williamson County Sheriff's investigators are still searching for answers in an August murder.

FRANKLIN, TN -- Homicides are a relative rarity in Williamson and unsolved murders are a rarer still.

Most famous is the murder of Peggy Cox at a Franklin Hardee's in 1991, still unsolved 27 years later, but now there's another case on the list at risk of going cold.

The body of 22-year-old Columbia man Trevor Armstrong was found early on the morning of Aug. 17 near the Maury County line in a rural part of Williamson County, shot in the driveway of a home on Sugar Ridge Road.

Armstrong used a wheelchair and a cane and did not drive. Williamson County Sheriff's Department investigators have been searching for information about his activities and whereabouts in the hours before his death.

Detective Melissa Colvin told The Tennessean anyone who has information can help Armstrong's family begin to heal.

"It’s not normal," she told the paper. "No one can heal if I am texting with them every two weeks asking more questions. That’s why we are asking for help."

Anyone with information is asked to call Colvin at 615-790-5554 extension 3238 or CrimeStoppers at 615-794-4000. CrimeStoppers is offering a $2,500 reward.
