- The Nolensville Little League team has been defeated by the team from Honolulu, Hawaii. The Nolensville team is comprised of children from Franklin, Brentwood, and Nolensville. The team competed in the Little League World Series against 19 other times from around the globe. This year was the tournament's largest amount of teams participating. (Rutherford Source)
- Today's Stars Over Tennessee event at Williamson County Public Library is free and the entire community is invited to attend. The 5:30 p.m. event is meant to honor all 46 sheriffs that died in the line of duty since 1796, the year the Tennessee Office of Sheriff was first established. The book's proceeds will fund several scholarships for Maury County students. (Williamson Herald)
- The Williamson County medical examiner has confirmed that singer Naomi Judd died by suicide. According to the medical examiner, Judd was battling anxiety and depression before leaving a note with "suicidal connotations" before her death. Judd passed away in April right before she could be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. (American Songwriter)
