Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:
- Williamson County Public Library has a new director. Jessica Jeffers moved into the position last month after the previous director, Dolores Greenwald, retired. Jeffers' most immediate action in the position is centered around the staff. She has been listening to concerns and ideas from the current library system staff. Her ultimate goal for the system is sustained growth. (williamsonherald.com)
- Williamson County Schools has published a list of tips for a successful teacher-parent conference. The official date for the district's teacher-parent conferences is Tuesday, Oct. 11, but educators are permitted some flexibility on scheduling. - The Spring Hill-based Major Nathaniel Cheairs Camp 2138 Sons of Confederate Veterans continues to block Williamson County's efforts to change the county seal. The group has brought legal action against the county's efforts to remove the Confederate flag from the seal. Williamson County is optimistic that this last court battle will ultimately result in the seal's change. (Williamson Source)
