Williamson County Unemployment Remains State's Lowest
Unemployment climbed a bit in Williamson County in November, but is still the tied for the lowest in Tennessee.

NASHVILLE, TN — Williamson County's unemployment rate rose to 2.5 percent in November, up 0.3 percent from October, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. The unemployment rate rose in 90 counties, fell in two and was unchanged in three others, but is still below 5 percent in 87 of the state's 95 counties.
Williamson County's rate is tied for lowest in the state with neighboring Davidson County. Of the ten lowest county-level figures statewide, eight were in Middle Tennessee.
In Franklin, the city-level unemployment rate is estimated at 2.4 percent, up 0.4 percent from October and the lowest figure among Tennessee cities of 25,000 people or more. In neighboring Brentwood, that figure is 2.6 percent, up 0.4 from October.

Williamson County's unemployment rate has dropped 1 percent since November 2016.
The state rate, reported last week, is 3.1 percent, up 0.1 percent from October's adjusted figure.
