Bellevue Apartment Fire Displaces 8

A family of five and three college students were forced out of their apartments after an early-morning fire in Bellevue.

BELLEVUE, TN — A fire in the wee hours of Tuesday morning forced a family of five and a trio of college students from their Bellevue apartments.

Nashville Fire crews arrived at the Waterford Apartments on Waterford Circle near the intersection of Hicks Road and U.S. Highway 70 around 3:30 a.m. to find an upstairs unit fully engulfed in flames.

That unit — where the college students lived — was completely destroyed and the unit below, home of the family of five, had significant water damage from the firefighting efforts. One of the college students was forced to escape by jumping from a window.

Fire officials said one person had an injury unrelated to the fire. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

NFD had to return to the complex shortly before 9 a.m. to extinguish lingering hot spots.
