Vacant Green Hills Home Destroyed In Fire
Firefighters battled an early morning blaze at a vacant Green Hills for hours Tuesday.

NASHVILLE, TN — A fire destroyed a vacant 66-year-old house in Green Hills Tuesday morning.
A passerby called 911 shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday after spotting flames shooting from the roof of the home on Dorcas Court. When Nashville Fire crews arrived, the home was already 70 percent involved.

Initially, crews battled the blaze from within, but they were forced to retreat when the roof started collapsing.
The house was under renovation and no one was inside and, despite sitting on a relatively dense cul-de-sac, the fire never posed a threat to neighboring homes.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
