Bellaire City Council Sets Agendas For Two Upcoming Meetings

Regular session scheduled for May 1, Workshop session on May 4.

BELLAIRE, TX — The Bellaire City Council is scheduled to hold two meetings next week, the first on Monday, May 1, and the second on Thursday, May 4.

The first meeting, a regular session of the council, will begin at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber, which is located on the first floor of city hall. It will include a public hearing, followed by a regular meeting and a closed meeting.

Then, on May 4, the City Council will meet for a Workshop session for its pre-budget retreat. The meeting will be held in the CenterPoint Energy Community Center, which is located on the second floor of the Bellaire Family Aquatic Center. It will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The agenda items for the May 1 meeting include proclaiming the week of May 14-20 "Police Week" in Bellaire, in recognition of the services provided by law enforcement officers and to honor officers who have died doing their job. In addition, there will be discussions on zoning ordinances and regulation of sexually oriented businesses.

Members of the public can address the council by signing up for a speaking time prior to the meeting.

The Workshop session will include a strategic planning overview led by Paul A. Hofmann, Bellaire city manager, and Diane K. White, the assistant city manager.
