Bill Clinton Visits George And Barbara Bush In Houston
The former presidents talked politics and grandchildren, and Bill gave George some socks.
HOUSTON, TX — They might come from different parties, but these two former presidents have a long and affectionate friendship. George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton have worked on several initiatives together and have been the subject of some great photographs over the years.
They teamed up in 2005 to lead relief efforts following the tsunami in Asia, and again to raise money for Hurricane Katrina clean-up. And they hit it off grandly.

In October 2006, Bush sent a note to Clinton after they received a joint award:
"This note is to simply let you know that I so appreciated your words about our relationship, about our friendship. It was from your heart – and I hope you know I feel the same away."

Andy Card, a former transportation secretary and George W. Bush's chief of staff, told CNN that the affection between the two men is genuine.
"They have become really great friends; in fact almost like family, and that's like a jealousy for the rest of the Bush kids. They think they got this other brother named Bill Clinton. It is a wonderful warm relationship ... "
Their relationship continued on Sunday when Clinton visited Bush and his wife, Barbara, at their home in Houston.
