• Harris County DA asks Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to block hearing in A.J. Armstrong case (click2houston.com) — A long-running murder case tied to a Bellaire family is back in the spotlight as Harris County prosecutors ask Texas’ highest criminal court to block a new-evidence hearing for Antonio “A.J.” Armstrong Jr. Armstrong was convicted in 2023 of killing his parents in their Bellaire home, but an appeals court ordered a detailed review of potential forensic-misconduct issues. The Court of Criminal Appeals will now decide whether that hearing happens. 
• Houston ISD Settles Lawsuit Alleging Bellaire High School Socially Transitioned Student (texasscorecard.com) — A legal settlement involving a Bellaire High School student will require Houston ISD staff to use her legal name and female pronouns while she is a minor, after her parents objected to prior practices. The district denies wrongdoing but agreed to the terms, ending a federal lawsuit once a judge signs off. The case has drawn attention to how parental instructions are handled inside Bellaire’s flagship campus.
