2-Year-Old Girl Is Mauled To Death By Family Dog
Police Are Trying To Determine Why A Family Dog Attacked And Killed A 2-Year-Old Girl On Friday Evening.

ALVIN, TX -- A 2-year-old girl is dead after police said she was mauled to death by the family dog. Deputies with the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office were called at about 6 p.m. Friday to a home in the 3900 block of Morning Dove St.
Investigators don't yet know why the dog, a mixed breed pitbull terrier, attacked the child.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

The dog was taken into custody and euthanized, officials said.
No charges have been filed in this case.
