4 People Drown In Galveston This Weekend
Officials are searching for a 25-year-old man who disappeared while kayaking on Saturday, and two boys who vanished on Sunday while swimming

GALVESTON, TX — Two kayakers and two young boys are all believed to have drowned within hours of each other in Galveston Bay over the weekend. On Saturday evening at about 6 p.m., 20-year-old Alan Perez Perreira and 25-year-old Raul Olivera were in a kayak off of Pirate’s Beach when it overturned.
Witnesses who’d seen the pair kayaking earlier told police they saw Olivera underwater rushed out to and pull him to shore.
Beachgoers performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived. He was taken to John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, where he was pronounced dead. Officials said it didn’t appear that neither Olivera or Perreira, who is still missing, were wearing life jackets.
