No plans for All Hallows' Eve? Patch has Clear Lake families covered with a list of events for the Halloween season.

There will be plenty to do in Clear Lake for Halloween, and the Clear Lake Patch knows where its readers can find fun, family-friendly alternatives to the trick-or-treating tradition.

  • Project Pumpkin 2016: Project Pumpkin returns to the Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library on Oct. 29, featuring staff-decorated pumpkins based on literary characters and other children's themes. Children of all ages will be able to view and vote on the pumpkins in the library's children's department through Nov. 5.
  • Toddler Costume Parade: A costume parade, open to children ages 18 months to 3 years old, is set for Oct. 31 at 11:15 a.m. This story time program offers tales and tunes, and participants will be able to visit a number of stations throughout the children's department to pick up free treats. Tickets are required to attend, but are free and available at the information desk beginning at 10:45 a.m.
  • Trunk or Treat: Clear Lake United Methodist Church, located at 16335 El Camino Real, hosts its Trunk or Treat event Oct. 31, featuring a pumpkin patch on the church lawn. Trunk or Treat opens at 6 p.m. in the church parking lot. Call (281) 488-5110 for more information.
  • Tricks, Treats, Targets: Children are invited to a free Halloween event, hosted by Topgolf. This fourth, annual KidZone party takes place Oct. 29 from open until 11 a.m., available for the first 200 children to arrive. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in costume as there will be a costume contest, along with arts and crafts, tricks, treats and a photo booth.
  • Fear Not Festival: The Clear Lake Presbyterian Church presents its Fear Not Festival as a holiday twist on Oct. 30 from 5-7:30 p.m. Indoor and outdoor activities will include pumpkin carving, face painting, trunk-or-treating and obstacle courses for children of all ages. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes.
