Amber Alert Leads To Grandma's Arrest
Alexzander Clayton Russell, 3, who'd been missing since Friday, was found safe in Galveston on Wednesday.

GALVESTON, TX — An Amber Alert for a missing 3-year old Texas City boy led to the arrest of his grandmother Wednesday morning.
Beverly Mickens, 40, was found in a hotel room in Galveston with her grandson, Alexzander Clayton Russell, at about 8:30 a.m.
She was taken into custody by Galveston police.

According to various reports, Mickens told her husband on Sunday that she was taking her four children, and Alexzander on a grocery store run.
However, she never came home.

The next day, Mickens' husband said he received a call from his 11-year old son to come pick them up at a pawnshop in Galveston, KTRK reported.

When her husband got the pawnshop, he found Mickens and their four children with a homeless man who was living in a Chevy Suburban with paper tags.
Mickens said he offered to pick up Alexzander and take him home, but his wife would not tell him where the baby was, KPRC reported.
On Wednesday morning, police in Texas City issued an Amber Alert for the boy, who'd last been seen at about 9 p.m. on Windward Avenue in League City by his mother Tawana Russell.
A manager at the Scottish Inn in Galveston saw the Amber Alert, and called police who came to the motel and found Mickens and Alexzander.
Mickens was taken into custody and Alexzander, who had some scrapes and bruises, was reuinted with his mother at the Galveston Police Department.
