Body Of Missing Kayaker Found Near Texas City Dike: Police
Friends of Steven Ramos became worried when he missed an 8 p.m. dinner date.His body was near the Texas City Dike Wednesday morning.
TEXAS CITY, TX — A kayaker who was reported missing after he was a no-show for a dinner date on Tuesday, was found dead Wednesday morning, police said. The body of 41-year-old Steven Ramos was discovered floating in the water near the Texas City Dike after an overnight search.
Officials said Ramos was out kayak fishing and didn’t show up for an 8 p.m. dinner date, prompting a concerning call to police from family members.
Coast Guard launched boats and helicopters to search for the missing kayaker, while family members and crews searched the shoreline.

Crews searched into the early morning hours until his body was discovered by family members searching along the banks of the Texas City-La Marque Hurricane Levee.
Officials believe Ramos drowned. An autopsy will be performed by the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office.
