Bomb Threat At La Marque HS Forces Closure Wednesday

Law enforcement are sweeping the campus for explosive devices. School officials expect a normal school day Thursday.

LA MARQUE, TX — Classes have been canceled for the rest of the day after a bomb threat was received Tuesday at La Marque High School, according to Texas City ISD officials.

La Marque Middle School, which is on the same campus, also had its classes canceled, and law enforcement agencies are sweeping the buildings for explosive devices, a school district spokesperson confirmed to Patch.

Parents are allowed to pick up students from both schools, and Texas City ISD is providing bus transportation for students who need it, according to an email to school families obtained by Patch.
