Clear Lake Couple Charged With Infant Daughter's Death

Dylan Daugherty and Aerial Spivey are accused of causing injuries that led to the death of 6-week-old Brooklyn Daugherty in June 2018.

CLEAR LAKE, TX — A Clear Lake couple have been arrested and charged for their role in the 2018 death of their infant daughter, police said. Dylan Christian Daugherty, 23, has been charged with the murder of his daughter, Brooklyn Rose Daugherty, according to the Houston Police.

The child's mother, identified as 26-year-old Aerial Louise Spivey, is charged with injury to a child-serious bodily injury in the 263rd District Court, officials said.

According to court records, Spivey and Daugherty are accused in the death of their daughter, Brooklyn Daugherty, who was just 6-weeks-old when she died.

Police were called to 2305 Bay Area Blvd on the morning of June 5, 2018, after the parents found Brooklyn dead in her crib.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences performed an autopsy and determined Brooklyn died after suffering multiple blunt force trauma injuries to her head and various parts of her body.

An initial investigation determined there had been at least three incidents resulting in a variety of injuries that were in various states of healing.

Police arrested Daugherty and Spivey on Wednesday without incident and were subsequently charged for their involvement.

Both are being held in the Harris County Jail. Their bond has not been set.
