Clear Lake Teen Arrested In Deadly Shooting Of Texas City Man

A Clear Lake teen is charged with the murder of Miles Christian Mitchell, 18, Outside a Sonic Drive-In on Sunday.

LA MARQUE, TX — A 15-year-old Clear Lake boy has been charged with murder in the shooting death of an 18-year-old man on Sunday. The shooting happened at about 2 p.m. at a Sonic restaurant in the 2000 block of FM 1764.

When police arrived, they received a call that two men suffering from gunshot wounds were at the UTMB Specialty Care Clinic. EMS transported Miles Christian Mitchell, 18, to HCA Mainland Medical Center, where he died.

Marcellous Marcus Mitchell, 20, was taken to the UTMB Branch in Galveston, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

According to investigators, the teen, whose identity has not been released, shot the two men as they sat in a car outside of a Sonic restaurant on Sunday afternoon.

La Marque Police worked with several law enforcement agencies, as well as the alleged shooter's family to facilitate an arrest.

The teen was arrested Monday and is being held at the Galveston County Juvenile Detention Center.
