Body Of Man Who Vanished Near Bolivar Is Recovered

The body of a 33-year-old man who went missing while swimming near Bolivar on Monday was recovered Tuesday a mile fro where he was last seen

BOLIVAR PENINSULA, TX -- The search for a missing 33-year-old man who disappeared while swimming near Rollover Pass at Bolivar Peninsula on Monday evening has been called off.

U.S. Coast Guard officials who'd been searching for the missing swimmer since 6 p.m. Monday were notified by the Galveston County Sheriff's Office that the man's body had been recovered.

Officials said the man 's body was found about a mile where he was last seen in the water.

Family members reported seeing the man wading in the water at Rollover Pass, only to be hit by a wave and disappear under the water, KPRC reported.
