Cold Front To Bring Showers, Thunderstorms To Clear Lake

The National Weather Service Houston forecasts the system to arrive in Clear Lake around noon, but the severe weather threat is marginal.

CLEAR LAKE, TX — A cold front is approaching Clear Lake on Monday, and it's coming with a line of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

The system is expected to reach Clear Lake a little after noon, but the risk of severe weather is marginal, according to a forecast by NWS Houston. Flash flooding is not expected.

They system is moving quickly, and is expected to reach College Station by around 10 a.m. NWS Houston is predicting the storms to arrive in Houston around noon and move into Galveston and out of the area by 2 p.m.

The Storm Prediction Center has the entire Houston metro under a marginal risk for strong to severe thunderstorms. Parts of Southeast Texas east of Houston are elevated to slight risk and are expected to receive the more severe parts of the storms. There is a chance of small hail and strong winds in the system.
