Man Launches Online Petition To End Go Topless Weekend Bash
A Galveston County man has launched an online petition to end Go Topless Jeep Weekend at Crystal Beach after things got out of hand.
BOLIVAR, TX — A Galveston County man has launched an online petition calling for an end to the annual Jeep Go Topless Weekend at Crystal Beach after the several people were injured as a result of vehicle accidents or fights last weekend.
Nearly 10,000 people have signed the online petition posted by Daniel Wilson, of nearby Winnie, to end the annual event.
Wilson said in his post that he has reached out to the Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to end the event, and was told they were looking into the matter.

Galveston County sheriff's deputies responded to hundreds of calls for service during this weekends Go Topless Jeep Weekend at Crystal Beach, officials said.

According to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, police responded to 400 calls for service, resulting in 68 arrests, 30 of which were alcohol-related, KPRC reported.
The annual event, which is no longer sponsored by Jeep, drew hundreds of truck enthusiasts in 4-wheel drive, ATV’s and other off-road vehicles.
EMS also responded to calls to Crystal Beach for injuries related to minor vehicle accidents and fights, ABC 13 reported.
