Enjoy Sweet Deals In Houston This Friday On National Donut Day

It seems that everything has its own special day to celebrate, and that includes the sweet breakfast treat of donuts. Friday is national donut day, and local donut and pastry businesses in the Houston area are offering some pretty sweet deals, and even a few freebies.

Most may not realize that Natonal Donut day has been around for quite a while. In fact, this holiday was started by the Salvation Army in 1938 as a fundraiser to help those struggling during the Great Depression.

Now 81, years later it is still a sweet tradition, and the deals are just as sweet. Here are a few that will help you start your Friday morning off on a pretty tasty note.

Dunkin’ is calling on people who live and work in Houston to “Dunk Out,” and encouraging everyone to find a few moments of “me time” to enjoy a donut. And to help people stop and smell the donuts, too.
