Fake Bomb Causes Evacuation At Freeport Police Department
A suspicious object found at the LNG plant in Freeport caused alarm when employees took it into the police department and dropped it off.

FREEPORT, TEXAS — A suspicious device that was brought into the Freeport Police Department, caused an evacuation Monday morning, police said. The suspicious looking device was discovered at the LNG plant by plan employees, who brought the device to the police department.
Officials said the plant employees who found the device had military experience related to explosives and suspected the device was a dummy. Police said they brought the device in as evidence.
However, out of an abundance of caution, Freeport Police evacuated their building and contacted the Texas City Regional Bomb Squad, who determined the device was not an explosive.
