Galveston to Host Transit Summit

A transit summit is planned to discuss the $500 million that will be spent on road construction in Galveston County.

GALVESTON, TX — With a decade's worth of road construction to do and half-a-billion to finance it, Galveston County is looking to strengthen the channels of communication.

To help local, county, state and federal agencies communicate and collaborate, Galveston County, along with area chambers of commerce and the Bay Area Transportation Partnership, will host the inaugural Galveston County Transportation Summit.

The summit will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the Doyle Convention, 2010 Fifth Ave. N., in Texas City. Residents and contractors looking to attend can contact Galveston County's Economic Development Department at 409-770-5471 or email economicdevelopment[at]co.galveston.tx.us
