Galveston Readies to Freeze for a Reason at the Annual Polar Plunge on Jan. 21

Hundreds will run into the chilly water at Stewart Beach to raise awareness and funds for local Special Olympics athletes.

WEBSTER, Texas – Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) will host its annual Polar Plunge on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Stewart Beach (201 Seawall Blvd). If you are ready to take the challenge, register here.

Whether it’s with a team or on your own, fundraise to freeze for a reason. An entry fee of $60 for adults and $30 for youth (under 18) is required to participate in the chilly festivities. All proceeds will go to providing world-class sports training for more than 2,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Gulf Coast area.

Additional funds raised will qualify participants for various incentive prizes, including a six-pack cooler, stainless steel water bottle and a fleece blanket for each donation level they meet. (The more money raised, the more incentive one receives!)
