Good Samaritans Save Christmas For Orphans Who Were Grinched
A group of Good Samaritans helped bring Christmas Cheer to a Galveston Orphanage

GALVESTON, TX — Good Samaritans came to the rescue last week after porch pirates pulled a Grinchy move and swiped a package that had been delivered to a home in Galveston. The planned party didn't look like it would happen, but that was before some good hearted people stepped up and replaced the stolen gifts.
The events all began on Dec. 16, when a special package was delivered to a home that contained items for a birthday party held in honor of a little girl.
The package contained games and other items for the party.

By the time orphanage volunteer Shelby Roquemore arrived to pick up the package, it was gone.
"These kids at the orphanage don't even have socks," Roquemore told KTRK.

The Children's Center planned to begin accepting donations, and hoping to salvage something.
The next day, Jared Davis and several of his friends drove from Pearland bearing lots of gifts. Davis and his friend told KTRK that they didn't want any publicity or credit, that this was something for the kids.
"Sometimes things happen for a reason and we don't know why. I know these children will be happy tomorrow," Hilda Tobias with the Children's Center told KTRK. "It makes me feel that there still is that hope and faith that we have from the community."
