TEXAS CITY, TX — Search teams and law enforcement agencies have been searching for a missing 7-year-old autistic boy since Sunday afternoon, but have so far come up empty-handed, officials said Monday.
About 150 rescue volunteers have been searching within a mile of the apartment complex, and plan to expand the search perimeter, officials said Monday.
Xavion Young was last seen at about 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Costa Mariposa Apartment complex in the 7500 block of Medical Center Drive. Police spent Sunday searching areas around the apartment complex, and searched two area retention ponds near the apartment complex.

"Our biggest fear was that he was in the water," said Tim Miller with Texas EquuSearch. "Thank God there has not been anything."
Family members told police that Xavion liked to feed a goose that lives near the fenced-in pond.

However, officials said there is no evidence that Xavion went in that direction.
Xavion is about 4-feet-tall and weighs about 55 pounds. He was wearing gray and white plaid shorts and black and blue Velcro shoes. He was not wearing a shirt, officials said.
Investigators said Xavion is non-verbal but will respond to his name. If anyone has seen Xavion they are asked to contact the Texas City Police Department at 409-643-5720 as soon as possible.
