La Marque Student Arrested After School Threat
A La Marque High School student who asked another student to bring him a gun to the school was arrested and faces criminal charges

LA MARQUE, TX —A La Marque High School student was arrested Monday after he allegedly sent a text to someone and asked them to bring him a gun to school.
School officials said the student who received the text, reported the incident to school administrators.
Officials in Texas City ISD said a gun was never brought onto the campus, but they were taking the threat seriously, KPRC reported.

Texas City ISD officials sent out the following message:
"Texas City ISD takes all threats, direct and indirect seriously. Because of a threat today, a student has been arrested.
"Parents, we want to make sure you know that there was not a gun on campus at LMHS today. We sent a call out to LMHS parents earlier this morning that a student texted someone to bring him one. We have arrested that student. No gun was on campus. We appreciate the quick action of students for reporting what they knew of and saw so that we can keep the campus safe.

The name of the student has not yet been released.
The Galveston County District Attorney's Office plans to pursue criminal charges.
