Lone Star Flight Museum Landing at Ellington Field

The Lone Star Flight Museum is moving from Galveston to Ellington Field.

Clear Lake, TX -- The Lone Star Flight Museum will be landing at Ellington Field. The museum has spent 30 years on Galveston Island.

The construction of a new home for the museum's 40 historificaly significant planes will cost about $35 million and is expected to take up to a year. The new space will be 130,000 square-feet and will include a $1 million aviation learning center, that will include a flight simulator.

FEMA is kicking in $7.6 million through funds to help restore buildings damaged by Hurricane Ike.
