Santa Fe Man Attacks Wife With Machete, Severs Her Finger: Police
A man accused of attacking his wife with a machete is in the Santa Fe Jail, facing felony charges. The wife suffered a broken neck.

SANTA FE, TX -- Santa Fe Police officers were forced to use a stun gun on a man who attacked his wife with a machete, cut off one of her fingers and broke her neck Monday night, according to police. When police arrived, they found the man walking around quoting Bible verses and holding the machete, according to a press release.
The man was ordered to drop the weapon, but ignored officers who used a stun gun on him at least twice before they were able to handcuff him.
The 46-year-old woman also suffered numerous cuts to her hands, arms and upper body during the attack. She was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.

The 46-year-old man, whose identity was not released, was taken to the Santa Fe Jail and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of resisting arrest.
He is being held on bond amounts totaling $121,000

Police searched the couple’s home after the assault and found a small amount of methamphetamine. Police said additional charges for narcotics possession could be filed later.
